Review:
I've never been a big fan of The Rock. My love for professional wrestling to taper off around the time when I was about 15 years old, and it was a rock heydey. His films (ones I've seen) are marginal at best in my opinion. But for someone who has led the field operations to take advantage of their popularity, not to win an Oscar, has come a long way from The Scorpion King. What I liked his anti spy action movie. I was expecting a film about the terrible Last Stand starring Ah-nold Schwarzenegger. I was expecting the production car chase and shooting, where the bad guys have to be shooting blanks because they can not shoot a good guy, even if you have a clear shot. I was expecting a scene where rock beat 10 guys who all turn to come to him, rather than just jumping. But to steal was different. Her story lengths, the father will go to help his son. I dont want to give away any spoilers, but it goes a long way. Rock - hes credited as Dwayne Johnson (I think that a serious film viewers) - is very high, and not very proud of some consistently good work. He shows the fear and vulnerability of a father who puts his life on the line to save his son, who is in jail after making silly crime. But the actor who steals the movie John Bernthal, who is an ex-con trying to live honest lives, but drifted back to the dark side to help The Rock, who works for the build. Michael Kenneth Williams will forever be known as Omar and typecast, but good turn as a drug dealer. Other supporting cast, including the prosecutor Susan Sarandon is excellent. Informant moved to deliberate pace, which gives a more natural and amazing feeling. Some of the action sequences are good, and it does not seem too big. I'll go out on a limb and say that this film will not be nominated for Best Picture, but compared to the junk I've seen so far this year (including the latest Die Hard), I would advise you to steal.
