Review:
There is no doubt that the most memorable aspect of Silence of the Lambs Anthony Hopkins are incomparable performance as Lecter. Taking over for Brian Cox, who was efficient, but not particularly memorable, as the good doctor in the 1986s Manhunter, Hopkins instantly makes the role his own, capture and convey the essence of pure evil charismatic. To his dying day, no matter how many roles they play in the meantime, Hopkins forever be known for this part. (It's a credit to Hopkins abilities as an actor, this part did not lead to stereotypes. His career post-Silence has become highly diverse, with very different roles as a butler indigestible in Merchant-Ivorys the remains of the day and an action hero in The Edge.) can throw any number of superlatives, but none of them do justice to this terrible scene which I have labeled as the best performing work 90s. Do you feel the icy fingers of dread stroke your heart? See this brilliant blend of eloquence and inhuman cruelty. As played by Hopkins, Hannibal is both a suave, cultured gentleman and a demon unspeakable. He is merciful and monstrous at the same time. (Hopkins has also provided one of the most memorable lines in movie history recently I ate his liver with some fava beans and a good Chianti, which was followed by a slurp crawl incomparable.)
