Of course, this was scannána ton hype and what can the film live up to all that .... yada yada yada. Even if so, it is really disappointing scannáni. The film proves that it was just as special effects made Star Wars fun to watch. It was as if George Lucas enjoyed so what can be done with CGI effects, he forgot what made the original trilogy so much, to write and characters. It is not a bad film, but the problems many.-Many people have forgiven the film for being lackluster as they say, but the first in a trilogy and it is just set up everything else to follow. Wrong wrong wrong, need to be in the film itself scannána first as the three other films. There was a need for good characters and interesting little story .... It didnt.-the conflict in the story revolves around the taboo trade dispute and the fate of the planet. Did anyone really care about this? The details are a little fuzzy on the dispute and known not really generate enough interest for us to remove particular side. The major conflict for Sideous Darth progress and keep far, far in the background. We dont even know why Darth maul casáuy Jedis so .... It just does. Lucas Darth maul may be quite like Boba Fett (quiet and mysterious). Works with Boba Fett because he only character without support, the main villain. In fact there is no clear villain of the film. I wish someone would have the courage to just tell a story that Lucas basically lousy.-not one looks especially happy in this film. Qui-gon is really the only character that can be related to and even with much beagáni. The queen acted as a model in many of his scenes (and it looks like one). Poor Obi-Kenobi wander in vain through the whole movie and not say anything interesting. The characters never seem to talk about anything wahâny plot (unlike the first film). C3PO and R2-D2 was quite pointless. The Jedi council comes across as very cold and buracratic. And I'll never understand why they write Annakin as a grade school child in this film. It should be a teenager. Two scenes with the queen of awkward. He was not even going to discuss Jar.Various Jar other things ... Midochlorians what seems to be added. The humor falls flat unless you have a very small child. Annakin destruction of merchant ships at the end and safves everyone, basically by mistake! George Lucas and ILM appears to be less satisfied with their new toy CGI they spent 95% of their time perfecting them. Actually I thought the FX Return of the Jedi clearer, more dimensional and less cartoonish. Nothing all that memory seems to happen here. Scannána can not also be the hype, but it could easily be much better than that. I waited so long for this film, but the first time I saw the scannána I was bored in the middle it.There really good time there. The pod race was fun, as was the light saber battle at the end. There are some very nice special effects throughout. Hopefully Lucas just had writers block when he wrote this one. He could recall what made the other movies as well in time for Episode II. While it seems that the title is already botched.
